Job Title: Skilled Assembly Fitters

We are currently recruiting for a number of Skilled Assembly Fitters for permanent positions based in Cambridge.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
*To manufacture, assemble and build Land Systems specialist projects using engineering drawings and associated design data to meet the business and customer expectations.
*To support the Production Managers and Team Leaders, ensuring that all MLS projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard.
*Ensure all tasks are carried out within the allocated time.
*To understand and work to Land Systems configuration control processes.
*To ensure MLS production processes and procedures are maintained.
*To follow and work in line with MADG Health and Safety management systems.
*Take an active role in continuous improvements, to include lean and 5s procedures.
*Ensure a clean compliant work area is maintained at all times.
*Ensure equipment and tooling required is identified to the line manager.
*Attend and support production meetings if required.
*Completion of daily timesheets.

Requirements:

*Completed a City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent in Vehicle Body Building, Mechanical Fitting or a Manufacturing and Assembly Qualification.
*Experience in Vehicle Body Building, Mechanical Fitting or equivalent trade.
*Understanding and experience in Assembly processes and techniques.
*Competent skills gained through training and experience and ability to communicate within team.
*Understanding of policies and procedures required within a workshop environment.
*Understanding of Production methods and processes.
*Competent understanding and ability to read engineering drawings and associated design data.
*Understand planning methods and skills.
*Good written and verbal communication skills.
*Understanding of Appraisals/PDR’s
*Ability to interact with all members of the team and possible customer interface.
*Competent I.T. skills.
*Consistent proven application to related tasks with a strong positive attitude.
*Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5s techniques.
*Awareness of Health and Safety, Fire and Environmental Policies.

Salary:
*Trainee – £21k p/a
*Semi-Skilled – £25.6k p/a
*Skilled – £28k p/a
